Meet Dr. Parris Singh
Vanessa A. Parris Singh, DDS, MSD
I am lucky to be a part of this profession! I work with many wonderful, creative, caring and very talented individuals. It has been a dream of mine since childhood to become an orthodontist, so to be a part of this profession means I'm living the dream every day — coming to work is fun! I get a chance to continue learning, to teach my skills to others, and to be creative.
Education and continuing education
I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, then continued on to receive my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree from University of Missouri, Kansas City. I completed my orthodontic training and received my Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) from Indiana University.
Continuing education helps keep me up to date on the newest materials and methods so I can provide the best possible care to my patients. I am an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). I attend continuing education through these two organizations annually and participate in local seminars during the year.
In the practice
The patients have put their trust in us to help them with something as important as their smiles. It's a pleasure to be a part of someone's life in that way. I repay my patients' trust with my ability to give them beautiful and healthy new smiles. The connections I build with my patients throughout treatment makes my job even more fulfilling!
My favorite part of this career is getting to know so many different people. Our patients give this practice personality! It's fun to watch our young patients turn into teens before our eyes and it's a pleasure to provide our services when our adult patients decide its time to "treat themselves." Being able to use my skills and do what I love while meeting families in our community makes this the perfect job.
Family and community

I am originally from Long Island, NY, and have spent the last two and a half years here in Indianapolis. My husband and I love it here! My husband, Amul, is also a dentist. He and I travel annually to Honduras with other dentists and dental students to set up a dental clinic for one to two weeks at a time. In 2002, I began these trips by going to Venezuela, but we began traveling to Honduras in 2006, and have gone there ever since.
In my spare time, I love learning to dance. I have learned many types, including flamenco, ballroom, tap, and salsa! I also try to teach myself new languages, which is not easy to do, but very fun. I also love playing Badminton!
